Due to the request of the director of one longboard needing to be sturdy enough to allow carrying an actor across the stage, as photographed, the two longboards were made with a wooden ribbed core, foam board inserted between the ribs, and carved into the proper shape. Fabric was then glazed over the shape and painted to add the color and design.
